Professional Wedding Guild

Creative Unlimited attended and filmed the Professional Wedding Guild meeting held at Vanity Fair in Lakewood NJ. It was an opportunity to network with other wedding professionals in the area and show off some of our work. There was also a nice presentation by James Ardito from Perfect Wedding Guide about current marketing trends, and nice free lunch from Vanity Fair. It was great to see some familiar faces, DJs, florists, limos, makeup artists, photographers, videographers and even an Elvis Impersonator. Check out these 2 promo clips we created for the event, and please, forgive me for looking ridiculous on video, I’m used to being behind the camera, haha.

Irene and AJ’s wedding at the Liberty House

Great wedding on Saturday August, 15. Irene and AJ got ready at the Hyatt in Jersey City. It was great seeing photographer Jose Reyes again. I think we’re both coming from the same referrals, and will actually be seeing eachother again in this weekend. Everything was really on time with these guys. Plenty of time to get some great shots of Irene and the girls getting ready, and AJ and the guys chillin with Empanadas. That was the magic word to get AJ to smile that day, Empanadas, haha.

They had a traditional Filipino Ceremony at Holy Family Church in Nutley. They’re reception was at the Liberty house, back in Jersey City. We stopped nearby at this historical train station. I had been there before for some great bridal part shots, so I suggested it, as it’s like 2 blocks away from Liberty house. It was an awesome spot to get some great shots of Irene and AJ, and their bridal party.

The reception was a lot of fun, plenty of great dancing, and everything was going well, until I got a rumbly in my tumbly. Something I ate was not agreeing with me, and I truly felt sick for a few minutes. I thought I was going to hurl on the dance floor during their bouquet and garter toss. I was filming and holding it back, and thankfully I didn’t toss my empanadas and my stomach calmed down. Oh my God, I was imagining being on Youtube puking on the floor. Would I have filmed myself doing it, or would it have been Irene’s video enthusiast Dad, with his trusty camcorder? Haha.

Well, I was able to work it through, but it was one of those moments where a 2nd cam would definitely come in handy. Someone to keep filming even when we have a man down. It was a beautiful, and yes hot day, and definitely a future demo sample. Congrats guys!!!

Angela and Alex’s Atlantic City Wedding

I had a great weekend at the Atlantic City Wedding of Angela and Alex.  Congrats again guys.  The wedding took place at Caeser’s in their huge Palladium Ballroom on Saturday May 16th.  I drove down the day before with my girlfriend Abbie because the wedding started super early the next day, and figured we could make a weekend of it.  When we arrived I went around filming some fun shots of Atlantic city, and of Caeser’s, then we enjoyed some boardwalk junk food and did a little gambling, which was fun, although that day the house won.

I was up bright and early, ready to start filming at 8am.  Abbie went off to explore the city and I went to capture Angela getting ready.  Since she was running a little late, I was able to get some great footage of her getting her hair and makeup done in the hotel salon.

She was in a traditional Chinese dress for a tea ceremony in their hotel room.  If you’re not familiar with this custom, the bride and groom receive gifts, blessings, and congrats from close members their families, and show their respect and gratitude by serving each person tea.  Afterwards she changed into a beautiful wedding dress for the rest of the day.  Then it was time for the ceremony.

The ceremony was officiated by their friend, and it was very personal and heartfelt and pretty funny actually. Once the ceremony was done we went out to the boardwalk for some fun and quick bridal party shots, during their cocktail hour.  It was interesting working with their photographer Jeff.  His style is very journalistic and laid back, like us.  It was great, and I almost stepped on him a couple of times, haha.  Unfortunately you can’t take photos by slots or the gambling areas, due to restrictions.  I do wish we had more time to get some fun AC shots, but we all got some great stuff.

The reception was low key, some great music playing.  Besides their first dance and a lovely toast, there weren’t many traditional events, like parent dances, cake cutting, etc.  It was fun to catch up with the Bride and Groom that recommended us to Angela and Alex.  Michelle and Brian told me about their 6 month old daughter, and even showed me pics.  The party kicked into full gear for the last hour, and I got plenty of fun dance footage.  The DJ did a great job of mixing actually, some 80’s in there with the new stuff.  I’m always happy to be a part of such a great day.

Afterwards Abbie and I went out for some more AC fun, and a little gambling.  Thankfully that day I broke even at the Spanish 21 table, but overall, the HOUSE ALWAYS WINS, haha.  Overall a great weekend.

More photo fun

My girlfriend Abbie and I headed out to Deep Cut Gardens in Middletown, NJ for the day. I’m really glad she’s willing to model for me, she’s beautiful. I like to try new things and play with photography, as it’s important to experiment and stay sharp. Also, I take some shots we’ve done in the past at weddings so we have some really beautiful shots for our own personal album, haha. Another great day, and some more fun photos.

Eharmony worked for me

I met Abbie on Eharmony, and we hit it off.  I guess those personality profiles really work.  She’s gorgeous and we have a great time together, so what more can you ask for.  I always bring my camera with me when we’re out and we end up taking a lot of fun pictures. You can do a lot with a tiny tripod, a camera with a timer, and a girlfriend that puts up with my nonsense, haha. Just thought I would share some of my early favorites. These were taken at Sandy Hook.  Fun day trip if you’ve never been.

***UPDATE***: Abbie and I are now engaged and getting married on November 26th, 2010. Another Eharmony commercial maybe?
