Venetian Wedding Highlights – Jennifer and David

Jennifer and David were married at the Venetian in Garfield NJ. Dave and I showed up nice and early as they also got ready there before their interfaith wedding ceremony. The guys were hanging out, and to be funny one of the groomsmen brought a ball and chain to tie around David’s ankle. Wiseguy 😉 Meanwhile Jennifer and the girls were finishing their prep and helping Jenn into her dress.

A short ceremony, in which we learned Jennifer really does NOT like wine but loves David enough to drink it, was followed by a crazy big and delicious cocktail hour for which the Venetian is known. I love that Jenn and David used an idea I mentioned, since I sometimes see photos inside Ice Sculptures, I said if you do that make it look like you’re frozen and pressed up against the ice, haha. There it was above the shrimp. Awesome. Congrats guys on a fun and filling wedding 😉 Check out their beautiful day by watching a couple of clips from their wedding video.

Let there be Light! LED Light!!!

I purchased this awesome new LED on camera light from Litepanels, the LP Micro Pro. I’ve used it at several weddings now and I have to say it’s a wonderful thing! For years I’ve been tethered to a big battery belt around my waist with my Frezzi light (which still holds a special place in my heart). This worked well for years, but limited my movement somewhat, and weighed me down. When the battery belts started going it was either invest in more belts, or look into other on camera lighting options.

What attracted me about the LP Micro Pro is that it’s light (pun intended), it’s bright enough, and it runs on AA batteries (I use rechargeables, better for the environment). It’s dimmable so we keep it as low as is necessary to capture great images without blinding guests. Also, I don’t have to be wired to it, which means I can take it off camera for some creatively lit shots, and I’m loving the freedom to move and capture even more great shots. Plus, I don’t have to wear a battery belt, yaaaayyyyyy!!!

The other thing that is important is that it doesn’t bother the guests during the night. Our goal has always been to be as unobtrusive as possible. With our Frezzi, we weren’t blinding guests either, thanks to softboxes, but even the lightest battery belts were a pain by the end of the night for us (a back pain). Always looking for ways to improve our work, including using the latest equipment and I just wanted to share about this great new tool.

HD Wedding Videographer

We’re proud to offer HD wedding video coverage to all our new clients. As with any new technology there needed to be some research done. There’s a lot that goes into selecting the right camera, from the quality of the image and sound, to the size and features we need to perform our job as creatively as always (if not more). I believe we found the right camera. It’s great in low light (for those dim receptions) and it fits nicely into our style and workflow. Plus the images are AMAZING!! Of course a camera is only as good as the guy operating it. Combined with our artistic and unique coverage, and our film style editing I think you’ll be thrilled. I know I am. Creative Unlimited, now available in HD!!!

Jersey Shore Wedding Videographer – Jessica and Kenny

We filmed Jessica and Kenny’s wedding on May 8th. We started off at the Ocean Place resort and spa in Long Branch. Jessica was getting ready with her bridesmaids and parents. It was very laid back as everyone got their makeup done. We got a really cool Stop-Motion shot with her flowers and dress. I know they’ll love that one. It was perfect weather, sunny but with a cool breeze.

I left Dave behind with the girls while I went to Seven Presidents beach to get set up for the ceremony and get some shots of Kenny and the guys. They were nicely dressed in their khaki suits. I like light colors, of course it makes sense on the beach, matches the sand, plus Dave and I are the only dummies wearing black on a sunny day at the beach, haha.

The ceremony went beautifully. They were handing out seashells and the guests were instructed to place them in a circle in which Jessica and Kenny would take their vows. The female officiant did a great job, she told the story of how Jessica and Kenny met at Bar Anticipation (Bar A). They even know one of our friends, since we used to hang out there a lot too, haha. Small Jersey. What was funny about the story is that Jessica is the one that initiated things with Kenny, and after all these years she finally admitted during the ceremony that when she went up to him and said “Don’t I know you from somewhere”, that it was totally a pickup line and she had never met him before, haha. Everyone got a kick out of that.

It was great working with the photographers, and talking business with them over dinner. They actually filmed our friends wedding, the one that Jessica and Kenny happen to know as well, so again, Small Jersey. I’ve seen those pics, and they were great. We definitely got a lot of great stuff on the beach with Jessica and Kenny and their bridal party.

The reception was at McLoone’s Pier House. Nice place, great view of the ocean. The party went well, there were some great speeches, and a lot of fun dancing. Thankfully they got 2 camera coverage, because the way the room was set up, it really helped for getting some great reaction shots during speeches. Jessica and Kenny are just a really sweet couple, and they had a lot of nice touches throughout their wedding. From the lemonade stand by their ceremony, to the delicious yogurt covered pretzels for their guests to take home at the end of the night, it was all very nicely done. Congrats you guys on a great wedding.

Economy is down, but business is up.

I know things are very hard with the economy right now, and I can only hope it will get better under the next administration.  I’ve heard many other wedding vendors talk about a decrease in business.  For those of you having a hard time I hope you can make it through. Thankfully we are still going strong, and I just wanted to take a moment to thank our clients for keeping us busy this year and next.

We work really hard to ensure our work stands out from the crowd as unique, artistic and movie quality.  It’s important to me that our clients are continually amazed by the quality of their video.  I think so far we’re doing a great job, because our past clients very strongly recommend us to friends and family and anyone getting married.  I hope those of you thinking about using our services will take the opportunity to find out for yourselves.

Thanks to all our clients for your continued support and referrals.  Your consideration allows us to continue doing what we love to do.  I hope you will continue to enjoy your video for many many happy years to come. See you at the next wedding!
